What is laser profiling?
Laser profiling is a precision cutting process that uses a high-powered laser beam to cut through metal sheets and plates. It’s ideal for producing clean, accurate cuts with minimal waste. For more detail on our Laser Services, click here.
What types of steel do you supply?
We supply a wide range of steel products including mild steel, stainless steel, galvanised steel, and high-tensile steel in various grades and sizes. See more detail here.
What thicknesses can you cut with laser profiling?
Our Morgan Rushworth XL 6kW machine can accurately cut through up to 25mm in mild steel, and 20mm in aluminium and stainless.
What is your minimum order size?
We have no minimum order quantity, we cater for all projects from one-off prototypes and to large-scale batch production.
What is the largest size of material that you can cut?
Our laser bed is designed to comfortably handle up to a 3×1.5m sheet.
What file formats do you accept for laser cutting?
We accept DXF, DWG, and other common CAD file formats. If you’re unsure, our experienced design team can help you convert your files, and even draw up your project from basic design ideas where required.
Where do you deliver?
We offer a local delivery service across the South West as standard, but can deliver throughout the UK on request. Delivery information is available here.
How much is delivery?
Delivery is calculated individually for every order, to ensure that we can get your precision engineered components to you in the most cost-effective manner.
Can I collect my order?
Yes! And we’d be delighted to welcome you for a cuppa whilst you’re here. Our collection address is Marsh Lane, Crediton, Devon, EX17 1ES.

What industry experience do you have?
Devon Laser Profiling is a sister company of Keith Hoskins Feed Milling Engineers, who have recently celebrated their 40th birthday! Within the building, we have designers, fabricators and engineers with decades of industry experience making us a successful, local family business who have grown to serve the South West as a one-stop shop for Steel.
Do you offer credit accounts?
We are happy to provide credit terms where suitable – please contact us to discuss your specific requirements with one of our team.
What’s the difference between laser cutting and plasma cutting?
Laser cutting uses a focused beam of light for high-precision, clean cuts, ideal for thinner materials and intricate designs. Plasma cutting uses a high-temperature plasma jet and is typically faster and better for thicker or less intricate work. We specialise in laser cutting for its accuracy and minimal heat distortion.
Do you offer bending or fabrication services in addition to laser cutting?
Absolutely! Our workshops contain CNC folding, milling and turning machines with highly skilled operatives, and fully trained welders on-site to offer a full fabrication service. This allows us to deliver finished and semi-finished products ready for installation if required.
Do you supply standard steel sizes?
Yes, we can provide off-the-shelf steel lengths at competitive rates for local delivery and collection.
Can you cut my steel to the length I need?
Yes! We can provide any steel at the exact length and thickness requirements that you need, just fill out the enquiry form or contact us and one of our friendly team will be happy to help.
Do you offer an express service?
We will always do everything that we can to meet your timescales, at no additional cost, so you get the premium, fast delivery service without any extra fees. Contact us to discuss how we can work for you to make your steel requirements a seamless part of your business.
